“Mind Your Business is a phenomenal multi-session enrichment program that affords students a hands-on approach to understanding the business world. Students are fully engaged as they have the opportunity to team with peers to create their own company. The leaders work so well with our teachers to make it seamlessly fit into the curriculum. One of the best enrichments we have offered at West Elementary!”
— Elizabeth Roos, Principal for 34 Years at West Elementary School, Retired
“Thank you so much for giving my students a supportive environment! They were excited, engaged, and they learned not only about business, but also about how to work in groups in person after being remote for so long! Some of my favorite moments were seeing students begin to grasp the difference between profit and cash balance, and when one student announced "Being CEO is hard!"
— L. Donahue, 4th Grade Teacher
“Mind Your Business is such a wonderful program for our kids. We love incorporating it into our end of year curriculum as a fun and practical means of hands-on learning with real life application! Students learn to work in teams while learning responsibility, collaboration, professionalism and organization. The founders not only have the professional background but are also wonderful when scaffolding for the kids’ needs, in a way that is fun and rigorous. Hats off to MYB for a fresh and funky way of engaging and exposing students to business!”
- Danielle Hart, 4th Grade Teacher
“Mind Your Business was a great addition to our 4th grade curriculum! Patty did a fabulous job connecting the business concepts to real life in a way that was relatable to the kids. The kids took ownership of their own business and learned from the first minute of lessons how to work together in a group. MYB is set up to give each kid the opportunity to participate in the business model and play to their own strengths – math, personal relationships, art, creativity, organization, and management. Every kid feels useful and sees how their individual roles contribute to the success of their business. Mind Your Business was an enriching opportunity for our students to work on practical “real world” skills combined with 4th grade standards. Patty & Carlie have created a truly meaningful & engaging program!”
- Michelle Thorner, 4th Grade Teacher

“The secret to genius in business is making complex concepts simple. Mind Your Business does that in a way that is both accessible and fun for kids. Imagine a room full of elementary school students who are all fully engaged, smiling, and grasping business concepts many adults struggle to apply consistently. That’s Mind Your Business. It teaches kids the most important concepts in business in a fun, hands-on manner. The kids will leave the room excited about the possibility of entrepreneurship as a path to pursuing work they love.”
— Nick Pavlidis, Attorney & Entrepreneur
“I had the privilege to volunteer for a Mind Your Business class and was delighted to see how engaged the students were on the topics of business, and different roles of a business, and how to overcome challenges presented by the class. Seeing the students work together to come up with solutions, as well as their enthusiasm to work together for a common goal, was the best part. Carlie and Patty’s passion for teaching the students was clear and really made it a great experience for all involved.”

“I cannot say enough about how much my kids both loved Mind Your Business! My son enjoyed learning through the hands-on experiences and working cooperatively to develop creative solutions to business problems while my daughter's favorite part was trying out all the various roles involved in running a business. Carlie and Patty made it fun for everyone and did an incredible job of sharing their wealth of knowledge from their combined experiences in the business world. I would highly recommend it to anyone!”
— Lisa Kinley, Parent
“MYB used real world examples that kids could understand! While the kids were having fun creating a business, they didn't even realize they were building their communication skills, developing team work strategies, applying math and STEM concepts, and developing useful tools that will be beneficial in all aspects of their lives. MYB teaches business and the fundamentals of finance, but students also learned about what it means to be a leader, how to work through problems and disappointments and honing their critical thinking abilities; all the skills needed for students to succeed in the 'real world'!”
